Without Conscious Effort, Our Parenting Methods Can Create Conflict Instead of Connection.
The authoritarian way most of us have been taught to parent creates conflict and frustration and endless power struggles, and leaves us with broken and distant relationships with our children.
When we parent our children without working through our own history, we are destined to repeat painful patterns we ourselves experienced as children, no matter how badly we want it to be different.
Heal the wounds you experienced as a child, so your children don’t have to
Create a relationship with your children based on trust, connection and collaboration
Develop emotional tools for parenting without anger, frustration, or guilt.
No matter what your relationship with your child(ren) looks like right now, there is hope.
Depending on where things are at, it can be hard to believe there is truly another way. But I promise you there is.
None of us start off as parents knowing what to do. We create plans, try to be the people we want to be, and watch as our idealistic imaginings get run over by the reality of daily life and the immense pressures of caring for our kids.
"As a mom of three boys under three, Shelby’s coaching was a game changer, helping me realize that guiding my boys’ emotions starts with myself. Shelby created a safe space for vulnerability and growth; I now lead with love above all else. I’m a more aware and intentional parent."
-Mackenzie
As a social worker and mental health therapist I became a parenting coach because I was completely committed to having a different kind of relationship with my son than my parents had with me.
Once I understood how possible it was to build a parenting relationship based on mutual trust, understanding and care, I felt compelled to support other moms in this life-changing work.
I believe all children deserve to be guided and loved by the best version each of us have to offer them, as moms.
I know that you want to be a loving, calm, intentional mom that has a meaningful connected relationship with your children. In order to do that you need to find a way to reimagine and reestablish a different kind of relationship with your kids.
I’m here to help you make that shift, guiding you through the steps to become the mom you truly want to be, one who leads with strength, compassion, and unwavering support.
But this approach often leaves us feeling stuck, disconnected, and unsure of ourselves.
The truth is, most of us weren’t taught how to parent in a way that fosters connection, respect, and emotional growth. Instead, we default to patterns from our own childhoods, even when they don’t feel right.
That’s where I come in. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you’ll learn practical tools and strategies to parent with confidence and clarity. We’ll create a personalized plan that helps you break free from outdated parenting models and build the relationships you’ve always wanted with your child.
When you book a call with me, we’ll sit down together and talk so I can get a sense of what’s going on for you and your family and where I can offer support.
I’ll explain my approach and the options we have for working together. Individual and group sessions are available. You can ask any questions you have and see what type of support would be the best fit for your life and schedule.
If it feels right to you, we can book our first session and get started. If it’s not a good fit, I will do my best to offer alternative resources or suggestions for support, wherever possible. There’s no pressure of any kind, simply an opportunity to see if we are a good fit to work together.
"I joined Shelby’s program because I felt stuck with my 7 and 4-year-olds. With her guidance, I now feel empowered to parent with confidence. I’m able to regulate my emotions first, connect, and resolve struggles with peace. My children feel safe, seen, and secure with Shelby’s support"
